Otto Paul Burkhardt chose Bach · Six Suites as the magazine's classical highlight of the month, awarding it top marks for music and sound together with the "Klang-Tipp" and "Audiophile Pearls" labels. Bach's cello suites on the viola need no apology, he argues, and Marc Sabbah's version is far from the heavy adaptations one sometimes hears: the suites gain an ethereal lightness, finely contoured lines and a subtle, dance-like grace, with a bright, silvery tone and an invigorating flow. His verdict: "A magnificent album: dazzling, compelling, and inspiring."

The Courante from the First Suite, BWV 1007, was chosen for the magazine's cover CD. The accompanying note highlights how Sabbah explores both the meditative soliloquy of the suites and their dance-like spirit – "elegant and rhythmically graceful", later taking on "a wonderfully melancholic shade".
